Wireless applications for satellite AIT operations and Wireless communication bus for satellite applications

ESA (European Space Agency) is in charge with the space programmes on European territory. Its mission is to find out more about Earth, about immediate space environment, about Solar System and the Universe, to develop satellite-based technologies and services and to promote European industries.

The two main projects that we developed for ESA are Wireless Applications for Satellite AIT Operations and Wireless Communication Bus for Satellite Applications. For both projects we integrated ISA100 technology and for one we implemented 1000 sensors.

Wireless Applications for Satellite AIT Operations address the use case of hundreds of wire-connected sensors that are required to monitor the behavior of the satellite during thermal tests in vacuum chamber and the mechanical tests performed on vibrating means.

Wireless Communication Bus for Satellite Applications’ objective is to investigate the feasibility of a robust spacecraft communication bus system with reduced or no harness and improving the intra-spacecraft interfacing flexibility without impact in power consumption and minimizing the overall mass.
