The CDS Field Tool provides the hardware and software means to configure the field devices for joining to a wireless network employing the ISA100.11a standard.
The Field Tool is a portable device capable of communicating over- the-air (OTA) and out-of-band (OOB) with a certified ISA100.11a field device. An embedded CDS VN210 radio module provides OTA configuration of field devices, while a built-in infrared transceiver allows for OOB configuration.
